LGPD – O que é?

LGDP refers to the General Law of Data Protection (Law No. 13.709/2018), enacted in August 2018, which provides for the correct form for the processing of personal data. Before the law was sanctioned, there were previously scattered sectorial laws of diffuse application (for example, the Consumer Defense Code). The LGDP therefore covers all situations involving the processing of such information.

LGDP applies to all companies and public or private institutions that perform any kind of personal data processing. Likewise, educational institutions are covered and must comply with the law, organizing themselves and reserving part of their budget for technology implementations, behavioral definitions and data processing process reviews.

To ensure LGDP standards for your business, you will need a comprehensive privacy and data protection solution to establish and maintain elevated standards for collecting, using, disclosing, storing, protecting, accessing, transferring, or processing personal data.
